Legacy persistent organic pollutants (POPs) and emerging organic contaminants are man-made chemicals used in industrial and agricultural applications; they are widely distributed throughout global ecosystems. They can accumulate in living tissues, become more concentrated through the food chain, and are toxic. They may pose a health risk to marine biota at higher trophic levels and to human beings. Therefore, analysis of legacy and emerging POPs in biota and human being are significantly issue for environmental heathy perspectives.
